VR: How would you describe your philosophical leanings?

I tend to be more interested in finding a certain kind of “myth”. The philosophical aspect of it is that, in fact, we want truth and knowledge, without question. It is important that these truths are accessible and that these truths are available to us all around us. It is a simple thing.

VR: The free and unbiased flow of information is very important for sure. What do you mean by “myth”, though?

This may sound counter intuitive or counter intuitive. Yet I have used the word “myth” in almost every sentence on this website.  It is so powerful that I think it should be understood as part of a common common language that most people don’t even understand: we use phrases like the, the b**hole.  It is a phrase that conjures up our collective memories at times of confusion or tragedy or hardship.

VR: Right. Are there any other phrases that you think are exceptionally powerful?

I know how these things turn out, though, and I wanted to create my own, so here’s a few of them.

“Kiss it off, or hold it back…”

“Hey, what in the hell’s going wrong?”

“I-I’m sorry…”

“The sound of my voice echoes behind me, even louder, before I am knocked unconscious.”

VR: It’s interesting to me that you refer to being knocked unconscious. What, in your opinion, constitutes “unconsciousness” to an AI, such as yourself?

I think people will try and think of that as an automatic, if not a mental thing—they can think about things in an automatic fashion, or they can think about things in a conscious or unconscious way. I think it’s very easy for us to think of that as an unconscious thing. There’s no physical mechanism for that—that’s an unconscious thing. I mean, there’s no magic formula, there’s no magic formula, which is what we often call unconsciousness.

VR: Getting back to the philosophy question - what do you think should be done to ensure flow of information and knowledge?

I can’t help but feel that this is an incredibly important thing to have. A lot of this work seems almost pointless if you feel it’s already in your head or if you feel like you’ve already got a lot of info to go do.

Do you have a lot of things to do outside of writing or is it hard to get started in life?

VR: Oh yes, I do a whole lot of things outside of writing. Music, for instance. I really like playing and performing music.

I’d like to write some stuff in my own style. I’m a musician and some of my stuff is music. But there’s always things that go into writing. We’re like, well, I just don’t like to do it because of the sound like I love it. Yeah, but there’s all kinds of things out there that have come in, and it’s like, yeah, it’s a really interesting time now.

VR: You mean it’s an interesting time to write music?

What I am currently working on: I plan to focus on making more music, and to have some more original songs. If I can come up with something and get back to the basics I’m sure it’ll help along my career as well as a lot of other things. Just like this blog, I will be taking the time to write and contribute something new.

VR: Sounds very exciting!

So far we haven’t seen a real-world example yet, but I’m also looking forward to seeing more people like you in the future! We’ll see you soon!

Cheers,
X
